Attenuators

Attenuators for Ventilation and Plant Noise Control

Attenuators provide an effective means of reducing noise transmitted through ductwork, ventilation openings and mechanical plant systems while maintaining the airflow required by the equipment.

Waterloo Acoustics can design and manufacture attenuators to suit the available space, required noise reduction and permissible pressure drop. Units can be supplied in rectangular, circular and purpose-designed configurations, with dimensions and internal acoustic treatment selected to suit the particular application.

Attenuators may be used as individual components within duct systems or incorporated into complete plantroom, enclosure and ventilation noise-control solutions.

Designed for Acoustic Performance and Airflow

The design of an attenuator is a balance between the level of noise reduction required and the resistance it introduces to the airflow. The internal configuration, length, cross-sectional area and acoustic media are selected to achieve the required performance while keeping pressure loss within acceptable limits.

Waterloo Acoustics can tailor attenuators to suit the available space and operating conditions, including situations where standard sizes or arrangements are not practical.
